Land Acknowledgement

At The Juice Box School, this acknowledgment is not just words: it is a commitment. We strive to honor Indigenous knowledge, perspectives, and histories through thoughtful storytelling, meaningful learning experiences, and a curriculum that reflects the voices and cultures that have too often been excluded.

We are committed to uplifting the Indigenous heritage and voices of this land, advancing educational equity and care, fostering a spirit of genuine reciprocity, and protecting and honoring our shared natural world. As educators, we are continually learning and reflecting on how to do this work with humility and integrity, knowing that acknowledgment is only a first step toward ongoing listening, relationship, and action.

We acknowledge that The Juice Box School is located on the traditional lands of the Tonkawa Tribe, the Lipan Apache Tribe, and the Tāp Pīlam Coahuiltecan Nation.

We offer this acknowledgment with respect and gratitude for the Indigenous Peoples who have cared for and been in relationship with this land for generations, and whose presence and contributions continue today. We also recognize the painful history of genocide, forced relocation, ethnocide, and the appropriation of land and resources, and the lasting harm these actions have caused to both people and the natural world.
